  2. it remains throughout in the home key
  3. the main theme is a tight-knit compound sentence; the transition is loose by virtue of its extreme brevity; the subordinate theme is also a relatively tight-knit compound sentence, but it is slightly looser than the main theme due to the minimal compression of its continuation (mm. 28–33)
