Fabrice Marandola is a professor of percussion at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, and a guest instructor at SUNY-Potsdam, NY. He has an active career on the new music scene, commissioning and performing new works for solo and chamber ensembles. Marandola is a founding member of Canadian percussion ensemble Sixtrum.
Recipient of the First Prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris - where he instructed Pedagogy from 2002-2005 - he also holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from Paris IV-Sorbonne.
Marandola is Associate Director, Artistic Research of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology of Montreal (CIRMMT).
