Sound Processing and Control Laboratory - SPCL

Established in August 2002, the Sound Processing and Control Laboratory researches various topics, including digital processing of audio signals, improved sound synthesis methods, gestural control of sound synthesis, instrument design, and digital audio effects.

The SPCL is co-directed by Profs. Philippe Depalle and Marcelo M. Wanderley, and is funded through grants from FQRNT (Fonds Quebecois de Recherche sur la Nature et les Technologies), CFI (Canadian Foundation for Innovation), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and McGill University.

The SPCL works closely with the IDMIL (Input Devices & Music Interaction Lab).
