Wladimir Barsky
Born in Donetsk (USSR, now Ukraine). Graduated from the Moscow Conservatoire (1977), where also completed postgraduate studies under the supervision of the eminent musicologist Yuri Kholopov (1984).
Doctor of musicology (1988). Teaching counterpointin Gnessin’s Academy of music (1990-1991). Editorin-
Chief of Music in the USSR magazine (1984-1991). Author of more than fifty publications on problems of harmony and modern music.
