Opera McGill

Le mandat d’Opéra McGill est de former des étudiants pour l’univers très exigeant et compétitif de l’opéra professionnel par le truchement d’un programme cohérent et complet, d’un environnement très favorable et d’une atmosphère positive de travail. Un choix logique de cours et de nombreuses occasions de prestations sont offerts à tous les chanteurs inscrits aux programmes d’interprétation vocale et de chant à McGill, au premier cycle et aux cycles supérieurs. Le progrès des étudiants fait l’objet d’un suivi rigoureux tout au long de leurs études afin d'assurer la qualité de leur croissance et de leur développement individuels. Une variété de styles et de disciplines est explorée en profondeur dans le cadre de divers cours, notamment de jeu, de mouvement, de danse, d’escrime et de combat de scène. Chaque année, Opéra McGill compte trois grandes périodes d’interprétation (novembre, janvier et mars). Ces productions mises en scène et conçues de façon professionnelle figurent parmi les faits saillants de la saison artistique de Montréal, et retiennent l’attention des médias et de la communauté opératique professionnelle internationale. The mandate of Opera McGill is to train students for the very demanding and highly competitive world of professional opera through offering a cohesive and comprehensive training program, providing a strongly supportive environment and creating a positive work atmosphere. A logical streaming of courses and numerous performance opportunities are available to all singers who are registered at McGill in the various vocal degree and performance diploma programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students' progress is carefully monitored throughout their studies in order to ensure the quality of their individual growth and development. A variety of styles and disciplines is explored in depth through a wide range of courses, including acting, movement, dance, fencing and stage combat. Each year, Opera McGill enjoys three major performance periods (November, January and March). These professionally staged and designed productions are numbered among the highlights of Montreal's artistic season, attracting considerable attention in the media and from the international professional operatic community as well. Opera Canada magazine has hailed Opera McGill as "...the premiere program in Canada."
