vocalBox is a family of Max/MSP patches designed for real-time vocal effects processing. Influenced by electro music, it's aim is to recreate post-production effects such as vocal stutters and reverse reverberation in a live context.
vocalBox is designed mainly as an effects module to be used in collaboration with a variety of audio applications. For my own purposes, I am focusing on the use of vocalBox alongside Logic. vocalBox will allow for real-time MIDI (and possibly OSC) control input, and also interface with choice AU and VST plugins.
vocalBox will consist of 5 main components:As of April 14th, 2008, two stable patches have been completed: stutterBox and snapBox.
I Will be making regular updates to this website to track the progress of my project. Along the way, I will also be adding screenshots, sample audio files of the patches in action, as well as versions of the patches available for download.
