HotMedia applets run on browsers under:

Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows NT
Mac System 8.1 and up
OS/2 warp 3 and up

 

Browsers

On Windows platforms, HotMedia applets operate within:

IE 3.0 and up
Netscape 3.02 and up
AOL 3.0 (32 bit versions only) and up. (AOL does not support Windows NT.)

 

On Macintosh platforms, HotMedia applets operate within:

IE 4.0 and up
Netscape 3.01 and up
AOL 4.0 (32 bit versions only) and up. (AOL 3.0 may be used for connection if an external browser is used.

On other platforms, HotMedia will work with browsers that support Java Developers Kit (JDK) 1.02a and later.

 

Servers

HotMedia applets run when served from HTTP compliant servers such as:

NT Servers
Apache servers on UNIX
Lotus GO Servers
Netscape Enterprise Servers.

In general, there are no special web server requirements. HotMedia files are retrieved by the client from the server using the standard HTTP protocol. There are no server extensions required for applet delivery.

Connection Speed

HotMedia applets will run at any speed. However, we recommend a modem connection speed of 28.8 or higher.
