Image Effects - Panning

A novel capability of HotMedia is the ability to apply some simple effects to the initial image. These effects do not impact the size of the initial download. The only 'extra' is the file size (which you create).

So, which is more compelling?

All three of these, when interacted with will take the user to the animation part of the HotMedia, but the first two examples use this image (scaled 50% here)

instead of this:

The toolkit provides for 'snap' and smooth panning. Snap panning jumps from one section of the initial image to the next. The resulting effect is the same as a traditional animated GIF.

The image effects dialog control panel from the initial image screen of the assembly tool is used to set the properties of the initial image. The delay time is the time for incremental movements in the pan, or the time the image spends on each section in snap pan mode.

For instance, delay is 50ms for the slow pan (50ms delay between pixel motion) and 2000ms (2 seconds) between switching from one section of the image to another.
