Summary
An artificial wind player system is in development to support research on several topics, including:
- to evaluate the long-term mechanical behaviour of cane and synthetic alto saxophone reeds, as well as their corresponding sound radiation characteristics;
- to evaluate the aeroacoustic properties within the mouthpiece of saxophones and other wind instruments;
- to evaluate the sounding characteristics of bassoons.
