  Leah Reid (Bio)


Leah Reid was born to two artistic parents and grew up in the rural town of Jaffrey, New Hampshire. At an early age, Leah discovered her love of music, beginning with the violin at age five and exploring musical composition at the Walden School when she was eight years old. Leah is a graduate of Walnut Hill (2004) where she majored in composition and voice. Leah continued her studies at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, where she was awarded a Bachelors degree in Composition (studying with Sean Ferguson) , with a concentration in voice. Leah was a recipient of the 2006 Composer-in-residence program at McGill, and was awarded the Eric Award and a Schulich School of Music Award for her work in electroacoustic composition. She currently is pursuing a Masters in Composition at Stanford University.
